Slushii’s work as sapientdream, his more vibey alias, has been a dream… and yes, that’s a pun on his DREAM albums under that moniker. Now, he’s preparing to bring both aliases together for the first time on the next DREAM installment, out next month. “Slushii & sapientdream DREAM III September” In response to a fan asking if the album would merely feature both aliases or a merging of styles between them, Slushii also revealed that this album would be the end of a trilogy and it “calls for the best of both worlds.” Stay tuned for more info on DREAM III as it comes out!

Oolaciles Future Riddim Label Halcyon Drops Debut Compilation With SVDDEN DEATH Leotrix & More8/29/2020 Future riddim… what is it? Well, as a fairly newly-prescribed genre, we’re going to have to listen to find out. New label Halcyon, spearheaded by Oolacile, is pushing the new sound and just dropped their debut compilation with SVDDEN DEATH, Voltra, Oolacile himself, Leotrix, Akeos & l7, phonon, Cripplingg, and BVSSIC. As it appears from the tracks on the compilation, future riddim is characterized by typical riddim sounds with a much heavier emphasis on melody, progression, and some experimental synth work. “Instance” by Voltra is a prime example — without the “future riddim” moniker, one would find it a bit hard to classify its genre. Still, Halcyon says they’re focusing on future riddim, not limiting themselves exclusively to the genre. A smart move, considering no one is really making it right now… or maybe they are and we’re about to have a whole lot to listen to. Either way, you can listen below! Earlier this month he released his first batch of experimental, unreleased songs, B.B.H.E. (Big Booty Hiking Expedition). Now he’s back again with Poon Gems, Benji B‘s Album of the Week on BBC Radio 1. Speaking on the project, Benji B says: “still sounds so good…loads of tunes from this era of Hudson Mohawke, brought bang up to date and available in an album that’s dropping this Friday. He’s decided to do the good job of sharing some of them with the world.” Running the gamut from smooth and jazzy to balls-to-the-wall wonky, Poon Gems has everything you wanted from HudMo and everything you never knew you wanted. Now, the second single “Alchemy” is here and it’s hard to deny we’re absolutely in love. Drum & bass isn’t Blanke’s typical style, but he’s been delving more into the style in live shows and influences here and there, especially over the last few months. His new single, “Alchemy,” is a stellar debut in the genre with a liquid sound palate, expert vocal chops, and a melody that feels like we’ve known it for years. Its immediate ability to call us back to old times that we’ve never actually experienced is a particularly powerful effect, and it’s not lost on us at all. Check out “Alchemy” below as we await the full EP! This article was first published on Your EDM. Among the myriad tracks, one of our favorites then and still is “Companion” with The Arcturians. Now, five months later, the music video for the song is here. Featuring glistening, flying orbs and a virtual reality world, the imagery is just as beautiful as the melody. Though there isn’t much to speak of in way of an overarching story — or if there is, it’s buried beneath many layers of imagery — it’s still a fun watch. Check it out below!

He just recently dropped his latest single “I Don’t Belong” that fuses pop sensibilities with deep house. This is a significant change of pace for the Grammy-nominated producer. Since 2015, DJ 4rain has worked with a myriad of top tier names in music industry. This includes Meek Mill, Quavo, and Emeli Sande to name a few. His production style across these collaborations and under his own singles has leaned closer to hip-hop and trap. But DJ 4rain takes his production talents into uncharted territory with “I Don’t Belong.” It opens with pop-soul female vocals and a gentle piano melody. Everything’s par for the course here so far; the hushing build and thin drum roll mix well with the repeating lyrics. Where this song really hits it’s stride is in the drop. The happy tone of the build is met with a warm welcome as the drop’s bass line bounces around with a ear-pleasing melody join atop with piano. The new single from DJ 4rain is an interesting turn of event for this relatively new artist. On his fifth single, he switches into a genre he hasn’t commercially shown the world he can do and does a great job on it. This promising versatility will keep our eyes peeled for his upcoming releases. Make sure to also check out the new music video for “I Don’t Belong” by DJ 4rain out now. It’s believed the gang leader made his connections through his career as a DJ, through his identity remains undisclosed. The drugs were primarily supplied to private parties in Ibiza. According to a report, “Raids on eight homes and businesses netted eight kilos of the synthetic drugs ecstasy and ketamine, 38 kilos of dried marihuana buds ready for sale and 4,500 plants located in three indoor and one outdoor plantation.” In addition, officers “seized electronic devices, documentation, €45,000 in cash and a vehicle with a hidden space which was used for transporting drugs between Ibiza and the Spanish mainland.” A joint effort with American Homeland Security Investigations also led to three arrests in Miami and the seizure of 15 kilos of MDMA tablets and 14 kilos of liquid ketamine.

With her first single “Perfect” in 2018, Lynn showed that her voice not only packed a punch but that she could write a great pop folk song. Now she’s really started to hone her pop chops with her newest single, “U and Me.” With a backing track that’s mostly comprised of house with a little future bass for good measure, Serenity Lynn turned the love song that is “U and Me” int a punchy pop anthem along with producer Cameron Nadler. In her vocals, that folk-inspired melody is still present in this track, however, so the pairing with pop production is done by speeding up the vox but not so much that the nuance there is lost. It’s light, fun and age appropriate for the teen Lynn but still showcases her soulful style. “Perfect” wasn’t released with the same fanfare as “U and Me” but it once again shows Serenity Lynn’s songwriting chops and lyrical gift. From here, the young songstress could go really anywhere as her sound is versatile and mature. While “U and Me” is fun and pop-tinged, if the EDM crowd gets a hold of her, there’s no telling where she could go from here. “U and Me” is out now and available to stream or buy on multiple platforms by clicking here. According to reports, social distancing is not required as long as capacity remains under 5,000 people. This means France is the first major music market to push for the return of live shows. Despite doing away with social distancing, masks and seating will still remain mandatory. There are exceptions for the areas considered “red zones” for infection — including establishments in Paris, Lyon, and the Bouches-du-Rhône and Gironde areas. Prime Minister Jean Castex said, “I say to the French people, go to the cinema, go to the theatre -– you don’t risk anything.” France’s culture minister Roselyne Bachelot confirmed the “elimination of distancing and continuous mask wearing, except in red zones,” via tweet. Meanwhile, large events of over 5,000 will stay under ban until November. The country has also announced a €2 billion recovery package geared toward culture.
