Illenium just dropped his new single, “Nightlight,” and Ray Volpe loved it so much he “just had to bootleg it.” Ray has been a favorite of ours for a long time, but this Illenium bootleg just hits different. And Illenium would agree. He responded on Twitter, “FKN BRUHHHHHH SENDING U STEMS.” So, safe to say he likes it. Hopefully this one ends up with an official release, and so far it’s seeming that way. Check out the bootleg below! We can’t wait to hear the full version when he has the stems in hand.

Cologne City-based DJ and producer, Toniia has gained a loyal fan-base since starting his project in 2015. He’s a versatile producer who aims to produce unique and innovative tracks that are both timeless and radio friendly, and does it wonderfully. His latest release is a collaboration with American Idol Top 40 contestant, Geena Fontanella, titled “Psychic“. Her infusion of raw storytelling and fresh take on production brings her dark/new age pop persona to life. The collaboration between the two seems as if it was meant to be. “Psychic” is a dance-pop hit, featuring a myriad of laid-back melodies and a huge chorus that can’t help but make you want to dance. Toniia’s talented production skills and Geena’s emotive vocals mesh perfectly together for “Psychic“, and is hopefully the start of many more collaborations between the two artists. But now, psychedelic drug development startup Mind Medicine Inc. could produce an FDA-approved treatment for certain mental illnesses one day with the combination. LSD, psilocybin (the active ingredient in magic mushrooms), MDMA, and even ketamine have entered a new age of medical treatment thanks to organizations like MAPS and various independent university research teams. While the drugs are often associated with partying, JR Rahn, the founder and co-CEO of Mind Medicine, doesn’t want people to think what he’s doing is for ravers. “What we don’t want is people think they can take this every weekend. This is medicine, it should be treated as such,” says Rahn. “We are not developing this so people have a better rave.” With most MDMA and psilocybin treatments, the drugs are prescribed and given in low dosages and always paired with therapy. While still paired with therapy, the dosages in Rahn’s trials are significantly higher: 100 μg of LSD and 100 mg of MDMA. “One will definitely have a hallucinatory experience during this,” says Rahn. LSD can sometimes induce paranoia along with revelatory experiences; the goal of the study is to see if the pairing of MDMA, which can induce empathy and trust, can offset those feelings and produce an all-around better therapeutic environment. “Inducing an overall primarily positive acute response during psychedelic assisted therapy is critical because several studies showed that a more positive acute experience is linked to a greater therapeutic long-term effect in patients,” Dr. Liechti, who is the principal investigator of the clinical trial, said in a statement.
The trials will begin January 2021.

Through the following concept — Arena Live — Axel is determined to share the “set that never happened” in 2020. The stunning performance is shot at the massive 8,200-seat Helsinki Ice Hall, complete with cutting-edge production and a 12-person film crew. The hour-long set is quite easy to get completely engrossed in. He shares of the experience: While in quarantine in Helsinki we started brainstorming ideas of what to do, when an opportunity arose to collaborate with the event technology company Bright at the Ice Hall. They had built a stage for live-streaming events during the COVID era – that’s where the whole “Arena Live” idea came from. The next 3 months were spent polishing the visuals and hiring a lighting team to program the lights for the show. We had one day for rehearsals and one day for filming, things moved so fast! So I’ve been in the classical world at first. Later, I think I just flipped towards hip hop and that was my teenage love. And then around 18, 19 years old, I was all about house music, electronic music. And later on, blog house came and we had this immense energy, new type of blending hip hop and house together, and we had a good branch in France. So I wasn’t part of that yet because my production level was not along the level that I wanted to be. So I just kept doing my thing until the Tchami project came along and here we are.” – Tchami At the VMAs yesterday, Lady Gaga took home awards for Artist of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Collabroation for “Rain On Me” with Ariana Grande, and Best Cinematography for “Rain On Me” by Thomas Kloss. A recent study examined recreational drug use during virtual events and online happy hours. To explore this new phenomenon, online surveys were issued in April and May 2020 via researchers at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and the Center for Drug Use and HIV/HCV Research at NYU School of Global Public Health. We explored whether stay-at-home orders changed how people use drugs—and it appears that drug use during virtual gatherings is somewhat prevalent among the party-going population we studied – Joseph Palamar, PhD, MPH According to NYU, “55.5 percent of those surveyed attended virtual raves and 69.5 percent attended virtual happy hours during COVID-19 social distancing. Of those who participated in these virtual events, more than a third reported using illegal drugs during them, including 40.8 percent of virtual rave attendees and 33.7 percent of virtual happy hour attendees.” Alcohol was used by the majority of participants (70 percent) followed by marijuana (30 percent). Other drugs included ecstasy, also known as MDMA and Molly (8.5 percent), LSD (7 percent), and cocaine (4.2 percent). Virtual happy hour attendees used cocaine (3.4 percent) and ketamine (3.4 percent). Read more here.
