Jvanz has become a rising artist to watch pumping out music nonstop and growing his quality and sound with each release, while remaining completely independent and staying a true artist by curating all of his music, videos and release plans just with himself and his team at Icon Island. His work ethic is entirely inspiring. 2020 has been a great year for the young artist, with big releases like “Mi Amor” with Bunlo, “The One“, and now his highly anticipated debut EP, ‘Lane Change‘. The “Lane Change” concept is all about outgrowing your situation and going pedal to the floor, get in the fast lane, passing by all the BS and heading straight for your goals. It’s a motivating message and the quality of this EP undoubtedly will push the listener to want live up to this concept. “Water” is the lead single from the EP and speaks to how we’ve all felt at sometime during this wild year, that we are drowning in negativity but with every down, comes an up. Jvanz says: “I wrote ‘Water’ during these tough times we are all facing around the world. I struggled as many others have too, knowing what’s true or false these days. With all the fake news and false information spreading on social media, ‘what do I believe’ and at the end of the day we have to push through all the information and remain true to finding who we are and what we believe in… ‘gotta be better for me’.” Other stand out tracks include “Timeless” with one of our favorites, Snyder. It’s a track that lives up to the name and is the most beautiful song on the whole EP. “From The Jump” caps off the EP perfectly in a brooding, captivating aura that can’t help but make you want to repeat the whole listening experience again. We can’t get enough of ‘Lane Change‘ by Jvanz. Listen below!

During an Instagram Live, Dylan Brady, one half of experimental electronic music duo 100 Gecs, slyly teased at a potential collab between the two of them. “People are spamming Skrillex in the chat,” says one man. “Skrillex collab?” Brady replies, already inserting his own words into the mix. “I wonder if that’s gonna happen,” as he begins mischievously stroking his chin, in the way that scheming people do. “Hmm, hmmmmmm, Skrillex…” After rumors of an Avril Lavigne collaboration last week, a 100 Gecs collaboration, in addition to one with The Beach Boys, another with Mike Einziger, could be spelling a collection of songs for 2020… an album, maybe?

These are huge wins for SoundCloud and its steady rise in recent years is promising — attributed to its unique business model, which breaks down into Listener Business and Creator Business SoundCloud’s posted $165.7 million in revenue for 2019 brings it up 37 percent year-over-year. In 2018, the platform’s year-over-year revenue increase amounted to 19 percent. SoundCloud CEO Kerry Trainor reveals to Music Business Worldwide: With the end of 2020 now in view, we will have achieved our third consecutive year of accelerating revenue growth and our first profitable quarter, with substantial cash reserves to continue investing in SoundCloud. While the coronavirus pandemic continues to hit the music industry hard, SoundCloud is weathering the storm with tons of music. Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Music have tallied around 70 million tracks on each platform, but SoundCloud reportedly hosts close to over 250 million. Now, he’s compiled 19 of those creations together to make BOPTAPE, a brand new mixtape made available early to his most loyal following. For the rest of the world, we can feast our eyes and ears on the chaotic teaser below. Whereas PLANET’S MAD came through as a theatrical release of unruly and unpredictable nature, we can expect BOPTAPE to be an entirely different change of pace with at-home quarantine beats. He shares in a post, “19 tracks as a thank you to you if you’re reading this <3 avail to twitch subscribers now, everyone later <3” Subscribe and listen here. Or check back to listen on December 2. While nothing in our minds will ever beat the Kaskade Christmas album from 2017 (and its deluxe version the following year), there’s still a lot out there for people who aren’t as into it as we are. A couple weeks ago, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Armin van Buuren, and Brennan Heart teamed up for “Christmas Time.” Now, they’re back with two new Christmas collabs off the Smash The House compilation album, Home Alone. Starting off with “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” the Belgian brothers team up with R3HAB for a downright delightful, bouncy house take on the classic. It’s got the jingle bells, the melody, all with a fun house beat. Next up, they tackle “All I Want for Christmas is You,” teaming up again with Brennan Heart. Remixing Mariah Carey isn’t always a wise decision, especially with a track as iconic as this one — let alone dropping a partially hard style remix — but the kicks aren’t ever offensive or overshadowing Mariah’s voice. It’s just a little extra spice on top. Not everyone will appreciate what was done to Carey’s hit, but if you love hard style and hate the original, this one’s for you. Check them both out below. Yes, please! When the producer appeared on the pop/punk sensation’s Instagram story last week, fans jumped right to “collab.” Sure, maybe they linked up to skateboard or simply hang out… but even though they don’t appear to be in the studio, it’s hard to wrap our heads around them getting together and not making music. Just this year alone, Skrillex has been spotted in studio with with Mike Einziger of Incubus, Bruce Johnston of The Beach Boys, Scott Storch, and Ross Robinson, who’s produced music for Korn, Slipknot, Suicide Silence, Limp Bizkit, Tech N9ne — and From First To Last. Although we can’t be sure this potential collab is 100% happening, or any percentage happening for that matter, we’re going to do our best to help wish this into existence. Skrillex x Avril Lavigne is by far our favorite rumor of 2020. Check out the video below… Thoughts? Skrillex x Avril Lavigne

Rumors of masquerading as a BLM protest and someone dying at the event also spread, only fueling the fire of people’s anger. Last night, ReUnite once again thwarted COVID lockdown rules with another event, again run by a man named Rick Silver. This iteration’s event hasn’t received the same ire as the last one, either since most people don’t know about it yet, or people have just become tired of quarantine. (As we all understandably have.) But as the events industry prepares to possibly reopen some time next year, provided there’s an effective vaccine, appropriate social distancing rules, rapid testing, etc., events like these that are more likely to spread the virus give government officials less reason to actually trust anyone to follow guidelines. From the stories posted to Instagram (below), which is audacious in and of itself, it appears hundreds of people attended the event, all without masks or any sort of social distancing. As tired as we all are of quarantine, gatherings like this only serve to continue and push it further into the future. The United States is currently experiencing a massive spike in COVID cases following Halloween weekend, and with Thanksgiving just behind us and Christmas and New Year’s on the way, right now is the worst time for this sort of event.
