We all know the Bee Gee’s sensational smash “Stayin’ Alive“. It has been a seminal song to music culture, especially dance music. Who better to cover it than the multi-talented producer, DJ, songwriter, and musician, HARBER, who provides an excellent rendition of this timeless classic. HARBER’s version of “Stayin’ Alive” encompasses his signature sound, seamlessly intertwining elements of pop, electronic (EDM), house, and disco. Groovy and eccentric, HARBER’s “Stayin’ Alive” takes the famous boogie-anthem, originally gaining notoriety from Saturday Night Fever fame, to new heights. It’s clever, creative, and entirely captivating. Stream “Stayin’ Alive” below! This article was first published on Your EDM. You thought Kayzo was done with 2020 after releasing his The Year The World Stood Still EP? Guess again. Having already released 12 songs this year, he’s back with his newest single with OST, “Liar.” Perhaps coincidentally releasing the same day as Bring Me The Horizon’s newest project, Kayzo leans heavy into his punk roots on “Liar” with blistering guitars and familiar riffs and drums. Still, it’s Kayzo, and outside the wonderful vocals and help with instruments from OST, there’s still a hefty edge to be found here. Check it out for yourself below!

Katie Dix, 19 years old, died of “multiple drug intoxication” after attending the event in Pomona, California. Her toxicology report came back positive for MDMA and Ethylone. According to the suit, medical response to the young reveler was delayed, during which time she fell into cardiac arrest. The suit goes even further in alleging Dix could have been saved had she been given proper medical attention. The family of Katie Dix accuses Live Nation of “negligence and a breach of their duties to protect people from distributing or consuming illegal drugs.” An earlier report concerning the suit describes the event was “overcrowded and understaffed.” According to Pitchfork, Superior Court of Los Angeles County Judge Dan Thomas Oki recently reversed a ruling in favor of Live Nation, and now holds the entertainment company responsible. He said, “an operator of electronic music festivals like Live Nation owes a duty of reasonable care to festival attendees.” The suit was first filed in 2016 and after years of legalities, the case will finally be heard by a jury.

But as particular states begin to open up and others start experimenting with socially distanced, reduced-capacity events, companies are preparing for show to return safely. Ticketmaster, a subsidiary of Live Nation, is introducing a series of tech tools they’re calling ‘SmartEvent’ solutions in order to help events welcome fans back to the fold. A variety of ‘solutions’ include contactless payment, contact tracing, socially distanced seating, entry rate monitoring, and of particular interest, staggered entry times. “We know that fans around the world are eager to return to live events and SmartEvent gives event organizers an array of solutions to help make that possible,” said Mark Yovich, President of Ticketmaster. “SmartEvent brings together our advanced technology platform and industry-leading venue and seating insights, putting Ticketmaster in the unique position to facilitate paths back to live.” Even with all of these tools in place, it will ultimately be up to local and state governments about how to move forward with allowing the return of events, in whatever capacity that might be. You can read a breakdown on SmartEvent here.

The song, literally years in the making, credits Tim Bergling and a handful of other writers and producers. Cam previously revealed during the 2020 ACM Awards, via radio.com, “I got to co-write with Avicii before he passed away on this incredible song that I’m obsessed with.” “I felt I had to get this right for his tastes, for how much of a perfectionist he was, and also just for his family and his legacy,” she added. “I’m so proud of how it came together.” In another interview with Rolling Stone, Cam described their writing session as “difficult” and Avicii, as a “creative genius who didn’t settle.” This is the singer’s first album in 5 years, and “The Otherside” is most definitely a standout. Regardless if you’re a country fan, a dance music fan, or both, the quality heard here is top notch. Cam – “The Otherside”

His follow-up, 2, in 2012, cemented his status as a paragon of drum & bass. Then 3 in 2016 demonstrated his ability to make engaging pop/DnB crossover with stellar collaborations. 3 was released on Sony after he parted ways with Hospital, and was supposed to release a follow-up called Palmtrees & Powerlines, but for whatever reason, that was scrapped and turned into his Abbot Kinney EP, which was actually released on Universal. He released a couple more tracks in 2019, but at the beginning of 2020, he announced his return to Hospital to huge applause from fans. Now, Second Nature is officially out. Its sonic make up is wildly different than the stricter DnB of Netsky, the mix of soft and hard on 2, or the brilliant pop of 3. In contrast, Second Nature sticks more closely to liquid with the exception of a few tracks. Only three singles were released off the massive 18-track album, which at times feels like overkill. There isn’t so much anything that feels like “filler” on the album, only that it sometimes feels like there was too much when other tracks could have been given a bigger focus. With other albums from Metrik, The Prototypes, Sub Focus & Wilkinson, and more coming out of drum & bass this year, it’s one of the genre’s best years since 2013 in my opinion. With so many incredible albums, what someone likes or doesn’t will mostly come down to personal taste. For me, Second Nature unfortunately didn’t live up to 2 or 3, and it’s got a completely different vibe than our #1 drum & bass album of the year, Ten Thousand Feet & Rising. But at a base level, Second Nature is nothing to scoff at and has plenty of incredible tracks that are definitely going to get big. Check out the full album below!

Since these are such huge tracks, it was unlikely they were ever going to be released — but, as with any live edit teasers like these, fans waited. Finally, with seemingly no impetus, those songs are now available for free download along with an additional remix of Frank Ocean’s “White Ferrari.” The Ocean remix appeared on San’s bootleg account, sorry not sorry. Only that remix was uploaded, probably to lessen the chances of even more strikes should copyright holders be feeling extra feisty. The other remixes are stashed in a download link in the description, which you can find here.

Among them, RL Grime stands as a stalwart king of the genre, consistently putting out creative new music and, along with everything else, putting out his annual Halloween mix. Like years past, he picks different artists or celebrities to do the introduction. This year it was T-PAIN, who we guessed was doing something with RL after this tweet a little while ago. This year’s mix was premiered last night on his label’s, Sable Valley, Twitch channel, complete with an insane visual accompaniment. But if you missed that, worry not, because the whole thing has been uploaded to YouTube in all its stately splendor. The mix has a variety of IDs in addition to fan favorites, from the likes of Hex Cougar x Heimanu, Skeler, Deadcrow, Cozway x Rossy, Holly, Juelz, and of course the man himself. Check out the full tracklist here. Listen to the full mix below!

He’s already established a thriving year for himself, earning support from the likes of Annie Mac, Danny Howard and Pete Tong with previous releases. Solardo, Maceo Plex, Adam Beyer, Kolsch, Low Steppa, Tough Love have all been consistent supporters as well. With Gorgon City continuing to champion his undeniable talent, Christian returns to REALM once more with a song we’re thrilled to premiere, “Heat“. Featuring a captivating tribal infused vocal, “Heat” sees Christian Nielsen weave hypnotic drums and progressions making for an enthralling, melodic house cut.
